Water exhibition

I was invited to take part in an exhibition at the Katrina Manton Gallery. This was a great exhibition that gave the artists there own interpretation of water. The exhibition had a great cross section of the visual arts including paintings and glass blown pieces. Examples can be seen at the Katrina Manton Gallery at 325 Montague St Albert Park Melbourne or on line for purchase at Katrina Manton Gallery

Freedom & Art

This was collaboration between New York biased artist Carla Goldberg-Van der Merwe and the Mirca Art Group. In the typical Mirca Art style, although this was meant as a protest, Mirca Art protests are more of a positive visual awakening held very dear to all artists world wide. This particular collection of works is from 78 artists from 27 countries to visually communicate freedom of speech in protest in the name of Nobel Peace prize winner Aung San Suu Kyi under arrest in Burma. The collaboration produced a book called Freedom & Art as well as an international art exhibition in New York of pieces of the book.

I owe Carla special thanks for enabling me to have my image from the book in this exhibition.

The Mira non-commercial Tour for Human Rights (MTHR)

The MTHR is an exhibition that brings forth the need for human rights, this will be starting in Sweden on its European tour in August. The MTHR is not a silent vidual it is an international arts project of cultural voice. The hope is to leave no question as the strong feelings of frustration out there in the global community on this tiresome topic, after all one would think that human rights are the rights of all humans.

This being a Mirca project means it will have its international flavour concentrating on positive outcomes. This exhibition will have a wide variety of discipline in the visual arts and also reflect a wide range of thoughts and philosophies of the participating artists.

Fadime Sahindal exhibition by VIOart

This is an international invite exhibition that speaks out against Honour Killings. Although this is a very old and ancient custom it doesn’t make it right. This barbaric practice is still alive and well in the world we live in. But instead of ridicule and demonising I feel strongly that it’s through education and positive actions that we can stamp this practice out once and for all. Although too late there is surely a time when the finality of these actions must come back on the perpetrator in the form of intense guilt and the pain of loss followed by consequence. This exhibition will take place first in Sweden. This is the concept of Swedish artist Stefan Tundel, driving founder of Mirca Art and VIO. Mirca Art
